A 2-years-old girl was diagnosed with pontocerebellar hypoplasia and bilateral cochlear nerve aplasia. She was implanted with auditory brainstem implant (ABI) on the left ear. During the initial stimulation of the ABI, only three electrodes could be activated in follow-up visits due to the contralateral facial nerve stimulation. In case of three activated electrodes, her auditory skills and language development improved with ABI. It is possible to encounter contralateral non-auditory stimulation in children with pontocerebellar hypoplasia. Despite additional handicaps, ABI provides auditory information to improve auditory skills and develop speech.
